Rfactor 2 is real. Let the hype officially start now.
With just one screenshot, Gjon Camaj has gotten the whole sim racing community buzzing. After conflicting reports, it has been verified that this screenshot does indeed come from Rfactor2. The most notable improvements are the high resolution textures and the shading quality. The trees could still use some work and transition to models, rather than relying on two pictures intersecting, but that is only a small complaint. Overall, this is a huge improvement in aesthetics.

We suspect that Rfactor2 would be named Rfactor2 because of the equity and standards that the Rfactor brand has already established. These two vital components create strong associations, making more economic sense and relying on established consumer comfort. It sure beats starting from scratch. Just look at Gran Turismo, which is on its fifth iteration, and Forza, which is soon coming up on its third. So we’re fine taking our chances with rfactor2 based on this reasoning, but since you are the official source, you are more than welcome to post anything you feel.
